RonCap Company is a family run business with deep roots in the Attleboro community. Owned and operated by David Downey, the company began in 1971 when my father, Ron Caponigro, took a leap toward the American dream.

After years working at A. Caponigro — the company founded by his own father — he purchased two tenement houses in Attleboro and spent his leave of absence fully remodeling them. That project became the spark that launched RonCap Company.

Ron grew up in the trades. At just 12 years old, he was sorting bulk nails at A. Cap, and by 16 he was preparing house lots for new foundations. Over the years, he moved naturally through every stage of home building — from framing to finish work, even assisting with chimney construction. He often recalls a time when more of a home was built by onstaff carpenters, and that craftsmanship-first mindset shaped RonCap from day one.

When aluminum siding first arrived in the area, RonCap was one of the few installers trained to work with the new material. As the industry evolved and vinyl siding emerged with improved durability and a convincing woodgrain appearance, RonCap quickly became a trusted name for vinyl siding, replacement windows, roofing, and decks. Homeowners recognized the quality of our work, and our reputation grew.

David joined RonCap in 1985 as a salesman and quickly became an integral part of the company’s growth. Under his leadership, sales tripled. When Ron retired in 2003, David purchased the business, carrying forward the values and craftsmanship that built the company’s foundation.

Today, RonCap Company remains a leading installer in the region. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals from the greater Attleboro area — including one employee, Scott Dieterle, who has been with us for 40 years. We are also proud to have the next generation involved, with our son, Douglas working with us for over a decade and continuing the family tradition of quality craftsmanship.
